During twilight and early morning, the color temperature transitions smoothly from night to daytime temperature to allow your eyes to slowly adapt. Create the file `$HOME/.config/redshift.conf` ``` ; Global settings [redshift] temp-day=6500K temp-night=5000K transition=1 ;gamma=0.8:0.7:0.8 gamma=1.000:1.000:1.000 location-provider=geoclue2 ;location-provider=manual ;adjustment-method=vidmode adjustment-method=randr ;brightness=1.0:0.5 ;brightness-day=0.9 ;brightness-night=0.6 ; The location provider and adjustment method settings are in their own sections. ; Below is the Lat/Long for northeast Ohio (Cleveland area) [manual] lat=41.4553 lon=-81.9179 ; In this example screen 1 is adjusted by vidmode. Note that the numbering starts from 0, so this is actually the second screen. ;[vidmode] ;screen=1 ``` Add the following stanza to `/etc/geoclue/geoclue.conf` ``` [redshift] allowed=true system=false users= ``` ## Reference * [Failed to run Redshift: Trying location provider geoclue2... · Issue #445 · jonls/redshift · GitHub](https://github.com/jonls/redshift/issues/445)
